Salome Asatiani is a broadcaster with RFE/RL's Georgian Service. Previously, she worked in RFE/RL's Central Newsroom as a correspondent covering Georgia. She joined RFE/RL in 2004 as a freelancer, working in Tbilisi and producing "Another Face", the weekly program on Georgia's ethnic, religious, and sexual minorities. Salome's academic research has focused on construction and representation of national(ist) imagery in contemporary Georgian culture, as well as the state of broadcast media in the country. Her last research project investigated cultural flows and subcultural formations in Soviet Georgia during the 1960s-1970s. Before becoming a journalist, Salome taught seminars at Tbilisi State University and worked as a DJ at a local rock radio station in Tbilisi. 

MPhil, MA in Gender Studies (with Distinction), Central European University; MA in Media Studies (with Distinction), Sussex University; BA in Film Studies (with Honours), Tbilisi State University.  

Salome started out as a DJ at a rock music station in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1997. As a guest speaker, Salome has made frequent appearances on Georgian television, and gives regular press interviews.
