Ten Russian Troops Killed, 20 Wounded In Chechnya

25 April 2004 -- Ten Russian soldiers were reportedly killed and 20 others were wounded over the weekend in the war-ravaged Russian republic of Chechnya.

The Associated Press quotes an unnamed official in the pro-Moscow Chechen administration as saying the troops were killed and wounded by Chechen fighters in separate attacks in various parts of Chechnya.

The official also said that Russian forces detained at least 200 people on suspicion of having ties to Chechen guerrillas.
