U.S. Bombs House In Al-Fallujah


18 July 2004 -- The U.S. military says it has launched an air strike on a house in the Iraqi town of Al-Fallujah today.

Local officials say at least 11 people, including women and children, were killed in the attack. Doctors say that at least seven other people were wounded.

In other news, Iraqi authorities say two car bombs targeting police exploded in the city of Tikrit today, killing two police officers and wounding five others.

"At around 0830 this morning the police academy was attacked by a suicide car bomb, which exploded near the checkpoint. One of our colleagues was wounded," Iraqi policeman Colonel Ibrahim al-Jibouri said after the attack.
