New Mass Grave Discovered In Eastern Bosnia

1 September 2004 -- Bosnian forensic scientists have discovered a new mass grave in eastern Bosnia-Herzegovina near the town of Bratunac.

Murat Hurtic of the State Commission on Missing Persons confirmed today that the grave was discovered yesterday at Bljeceva, approximately 50 meters from another mass grave where over 110 bodies were exhumed last month.

Hurtic said documents also discovered in the grave indicate the dead are Bosnian Muslims killed at Srebrenica in July 1995, when Bosnian Serb forces massacred up to 8,000 Muslim men and boys after capturing the enclave.

Some 20 bodies have already been unearthed at Bljeceva. A complete exhumation of the site is expected to last a month.
