Iraqi Police Ambushed, Killed South Of Baghdad


17 October 2004 -- Iraq police say that nine Iraqi policemen returning from a training course in Jordan were ambushed and killed on their way home to the town of Karbala.

Karbala police say the ambush happened yesterday in Al-Latifiyah, about 40 kilometers south of Baghdad. The attackers managed to flee the scene.
