RFE/RL's correspondent in Bishkek says the parliamentarians delayed the meeting until tomorrow because of a lack of a quorum.

At today's meeting, the 75-member parliament was expected to view an 18-minute message recorded in Moscow in which Akaev officially resigns the presidency.

Akaev signed his formal resignation at the Kyrgyz Embassy in Moscow yesterday.

Akaev fled Bishkek in late March following mass protests in Kyrgyzstan sparked by allegations that recent parliamentary elections were rigged by Akaev's administration.

Akayev's videotaped message was expected to be broadcast on national television later today after parliament views it.
