Berisha Named Albanian Prime Minister

3 September 2005 -- Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha was named Albania's new prime minister today.

President Alfred Moisiu formally declared Berisha prime minister after Berisha's party's win in 3 July parliamentary polls.

The party has formed a coalition with other groups to take control of 80 of the 140 seats in parliament.
