Eight Feared Dead After Russian Steamer Capsizes

16 September 2005 -- Eight people are feared dead after a steamboat capsized today in a river port in Russia's Far North.

Seven people, including three crewmembers, were rescued from the Yenisei River, near the port of Dudinka. Another eight people were believed to have been on board the cargo ship when it capsized.

Officials said the ship, carrying fruit and vegetables, was overloaded and not licensed to carry passengers aside from the five-man crew.
