IEA Says World's Energy Policy Not Sustainable

8 November 2005 -- The International Energy Agency is warning the world to change its energy habits.

In its World Energy Outlook report issued on 7 November, the IEA said energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions will soar by more than 50 percent by 2030 if consumers keep burning oil unchecked.

The report by the Paris-based agency also said China and other developing countries will emerge as the world's biggest polluters over the next 25 years.
