Death Toll In Montenegrin Crash Rises To 46


The rescue operation at the scene of the derailment on 23 January (epa) 27 January 2006 -- A woman who was critically injured in a train derailment in Montenegro earlier this week died today of her injuries, raising the death toll in the accident to 46.

Some 200 people were injured in the train crash, which happened near the capital Podgorica on 23 January. Eleven people remain in critical condition in the hospital.


Preliminary investigations into the cause of crash were focusing on human error and brake failure.
