Demonstrators End Two-Week Protest In Mongolia


Some of around 1,500 protesters at an April 11 demonstration in central Ulan Bator (file photo) (epa) April 24, 2006 -- Some 200 Mongol demonstrators, including 10 hunger-strikers, have ended their two-week protest in the capital, Ulan Bator, over alleged government corruption and the mishandling of mineral wealth.


The decision came after the government agreed to form working groups to investigate agreements signed with foreign mining companies and look into mining licensing issues.
