Five Oil Workers Killed In Kazakhstan


Work in progress on a major overhaul of the Atyrau-Samara pipeline (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) May 5, 2006 -- Five people were reported killed and three injured after inhaling poisonous gases at an oil facility in Kazakhstan today.


The news agency Kazakhstan Today says the incident happened at an oil refinery in the northern region of Pavlodar.


Local emergency officials confirmed the accident, but gave no details.
