Ukrainian PM Wants Workday Changed For World Cup


Andriy Shevchenko, Ukraine's footballing superstar (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) May 31, 2006 -- Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov has called on employers to adjust the working day on June 14 so that Ukrainians can watch their national football team makes its debut in the World Cup.


Yekhanurov urged employers to start the day earlier or bring televisions to the workplace and allow a break. Otherwise, he said, they can expect "an epidemic of unexplained illnesses" when Ukraine takes on Spain.
