Tajikistan Jails Alleged Uzbek Spy


(RFE/RL) June 13, 2006 -- A Tajik court today jailed an Uzbek businessman for spying.


Abdujalol Qodirov, 55, was sentenced to 13 years. This is the second time in 10 days that an Uzbek has been jailed for espionage.


On June 2, the same court, in the Soghd region, sentenced Ibragim Yuldashev to 13 years in jail for espionage and for illegally crossing the Tajik border.
