Most Paris Club creditors have agreed in principle to Russia repaying its debt early, but some, Germany in particular, have resisted the plan.

Finance Minister Aleksei Kudrin (file photo) (ITAR-TASS) June 22, 2006 -- Russian Finance Minister Aleksei Kudrin says Russia will repay the remaining $22 billion of its Soviet-era debt to the Paris Club of creditor nations by August.
