Russia Demands Moldova Pay More For Gas


A Gazprom facility in Siberia (ITAR-TASS) June 22, 2006 -- Russian gas giant Gazprom says it has asked Moldova to pay an $160 per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas from July, up from the current rate of $110.


The announcement followed talks in Moscow between Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev and Gazprom chairman Aleksei Miller.
