Suspects Arrested For 2002 Killing Of Russian Governor


Magadan Oblast Governor Tsvetkov after being killed in Moscow in Octboer 2002 (CTK) July 12, 2006 -- Spanish police have arrested two suspects wanted in connection with the killing of a Russian governor in 2002.


The two, who were allegedly carrying fake documents, were arrested in the southern town of Marbella.


Valentin Tsvetkov, the governor of Russia's Far Eastern region of Magadan Oblast, was gunned down in Moscow in October 2002 in what police at the time described as a contract killing.
