Iranian Foreign Minister Visits Belarus


Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki (file photo) (epa) September 7, 2006 -- Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki today met with President Alyaksandr Lukashenka during a visit to the Belarusian capital, Minsk.


Mottaki said the two nations shared "common hopes and concerns," while Lukashenka said Iran is an important source of support for his country and called for more active cooperation.


Both Iran and Belarus are facing international isolation.
