Montenegro's Ruling Coalition Wins Elections


President Filip Vujanovic and Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic (right) at the during final pre-election rally in Podgorica, September 7 (epa) September 12, 2006 -- Montenegro's election authorities said tonight that the governing pro-Western coalition led by Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic has won September 10 parliamentary elections.

They said the ruling two-party coalition secured 41 out of 81 seats in the republic's parliament.

The slim but sufficient majority means that Djukanovic can remain in power.
