U.S. Ambassaor Wants Brits To Stay In Iraq

U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Khalilzad (file photo) (epa) January 25, 2007 -- The U.S. ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad has said he would like British troops to stay in the country, even as pressure mounts on Prime Minister Tony Blair to reduce Britain's deployment in the south.

Earlier on January 24, Blair said it would be "deeply irresponsible" to set an arbitrary deadline for pulling British forces out of Iraq.
