Russia's Aeroflot To Buy 22 Airbus Jets

An Airbus plant in Germany (epa) March 22, 2007 -- Aeroflot, Russia's flagship carrier, has ordered 22 Airbus A-350 passenger jets.

Aeroflot signed a letter of intent with the European aircraft giant today in Moscow. The jets are to be delivered between 2014 and 2017.

The deal will help Russia rejuvenate its aging commercial aircraft fleet.

Airbus has been beset by production delays and a financial crisis that has led the firm to announce plans to cut 10,000 jobs in Europe.
