At Least 17 Killed By Baghdad Car Bomb


(RFE/RL) July 5, 2007 -- A car bomb killed at least 17 people in south Baghdad today.


Another 20 were reportedly wounded in the attack in the mainly Shi'ite neighborhood of Abu Dshir. Most of those killed were reportedly guests at a wedding party.


The U.S. military, meanwhile, said two U.S. soldiers were killed and two were wounded by a roadside bomb in south Baghdad.


Separately, U.S. attack helicopters killed four alleged militants in an air strike on their vehicle in the Shi'ite stronghold of Al-Sadr City, in northeast Baghdad.
