Attackers Kill Policeman In Daghestan


(RFE/RL) August 4, 2007 -- One policeman was reported killed and two civilians wounded when a police car came under fire in the southern Russian republic of Daghestan today.

Today's attack follows two battles between militants and law enforcement on August 3, in which four militants and one soldier were killed, as well as the separate killing of a local police chief.


A search for the assailants is under way.
