Chinese Chief Of Staff In Moscow

Moscow, May 2 (RFE/RL) - China's military chief of staff, Col. Gen. Fu Quan You, left Beijing today for Moscow, at the start of a six-day Russian visit.

The Chinese military chief is expected to meet Russian Defence Minister Pavel Grachev and Chief of staff Mikhail Kolesnikov during his stay.

The talks will focus on bilateral military relations, the Sino-Russian border, and security in Asia and the Pacific region. Fu is also scheduled to visit the Russian air force base of Kubinka near Moscow, as well as a naval academy in St.Petersburg and the North Caucasus military district.
