Moscow, 7 October 1996 (RFE/RL) -- The press service of Russian President Boris Yeltsin says Yeltsin was transferred today to the official Barvikha sanatorium outside Moscow, after spending almost a month at the capital's Central Clinical Hospital.
Yeltsin is preparing to undergo heart surgery before the end of the year. The press service, quoting Yeltsin's doctors, said his condition is "quite satisfactory."
According to the press service, Yeltsin plans to work and take walks at the sanatorium.
