Russia: Yeltsin Leaves Hospital Today

Moscow, 20 January 1997 (RFE/RL) - Russian President Boris Yeltsin was discharged from Moscow's Central Clinical Hospital today.

Presidential spokesman Sergei Yastrzhembsky said Yeltsin's inpatient stage of treatment for double pneumonia is finished. But he said Yeltsin will continue to be treated at his Gorky-9 residence near Moscow.

He gave no word when Yeltsin would be back in the Kremlin and cautioned that "one should not expect a forceful return of Boris Nikolaevich to full-time work" in the near future.
