Bulgaria: President Leaves For Greece


Sofia, 2 July 1997 (RFE/RL) - Bulgarian President Petar Stoyanov left today on a three-day official visit to Greece.

Stoayanov is scheduled to meet later today with Greek President Konstandinos Stephanopoulos and with Prime Minister Kostandinos Simitis.

Before leaving for Greece Stoyanov told our correspondent Bulgaria's bid to join NATO and the EU would top the agenda of the talks.

Stoyanov is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Evgeni Bakardzhiev and a delegation of businessmen.
