Makhachkala, 15 November 2002 (RFE/RL) -- Seven men accused of terrorism face trial today in the Russian republic of Daghestan. The seven are part of a group of 16 people accused of staging 13 attacks in Daghestan from August 2001 to last February.
The attacks include the explosion of several police cars and of the railway track in Makhachkala as well as of a military truck last January. Seven servicemen were killed in that incident.
Authorities are still searching for several other members of the group.
