Like Father, Like Son: The Adventures Of Alyaksandr Lukashenka And His Son Kolya

Mikalay Lukashenka, aka Kolya, is not your average 11-year-old. But that's to be expected when your father is not the average president, but Alyaksandr Lukashenka, Europe's "last dictator" and a merciless opponent of democratic change in his post-Soviet country.

In his 11 short years, Kolya has already met presidents, pop stars, and popes, and this week he even helped to represent Belarus at the UN General Assembly in New York, where even U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, found a few spare minutes to pose with father and son. It's long been rumored that Kolya, reportedly born out of wedlock after a presidential fling, is being groomed to succeed his authoritarian dad, who's been in power since 1994, but under the current Belarusian Constitution, at least, that would mean his father would have to remain in power for another 34 years.
