Thousands of internally displaced Afghans and refugees who have returned from Pakistan and Iran are living in camps in Kabul. Although life in the camps is difficult year-round, winter is the hardest of all, as many endure the cold weather without sufficient clothing, fuel, or food. The United Nations’ refugee agency has been running an aid-distribution campaign, but many families still report that their needs are not being met. Sabawoon of RFE/RL’s Radio Free Afghanistan spoke to some of the displaced people about the hardships they face.
