The widow of former Yugoslav dictator Josip Broz Tito has died aged 88.
Jovanka Broz died of heart failure on October 20 at a Belgrade hospital where she had been receiving treatment since August.
Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic paid tribute to Broz, saying she was "one of the last most reliable witnesses of our former country's history."
Broz, who was married to Tito for nearly 30 years, had lived mostly in isolation since her husband died in 1980.
Tito's successors, suspecting that Broz was plotting a coup, stripped Broz of her rights, confiscated her possessions, and placed her in virtual house arrest.
She is known to have lived in terrible conditions.
In 2006, Serbian authorities offered her assistance and in 2009 she received Serbian citizenship documents and a pension.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
