KHOTKOVO -- Dozens of residents of the town of Khotkovo near Moscow have picketed the mayor's office to protest illegal immigration, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.
On October 26, two young men from Khotkovo were stabbed during a fight with immigrant workers from Central Asia. One of them died later in hospital.
The picketers on November 4 demanded the resignation of Khotkovo Mayor Rita Tikhomirova, arguing that she is unable to solve the problems posed by illegal immigrants.
