Happy Hour In Chechnya

From now on alcoholic drinks will be sold for only two hours a day in Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov has announced in a televised address.

Liquor stores throughout the Russian republic will be open only between 8 and 10 a.m.

And during the month of Ramadan, sales of booze will be prohibited.

Last month, over 70 liquor stores were closed in Chechnya after a series of inspections by tax authorities. And in recent weeks, Islamic leaders have called for a complete alcohol ban.
