The chief executive officer of Qantas airline says tests have found oil leaks in three engines on its grounded Airbus A380 fleet.

Australia's national carrier grounded its six double-decker A380s after an engine exploded minutes into a flight from Singapore to Sydney last week.

"Oil leaks have been discovered in the turbine area of three engines," Qantas CEO Alan Joyce explained to reporters in Sydney today. "We have removed these engines from the aircraft for further testing and we are now planning that the A380 fleet will remain out of service for at least the next 72 hours."

On November 4, an engine on a Qantas A380 broke apart above Indonesia's Batam Island, forcing the world's lastest passenger plane to make an emergency landing in Singapore.
