At least four Islamist militants have been killed when missiles from a U.S. drone aircraft struck a suspected insurgent hideout in Pakistan's northwest tribal belt, according to Pakistani sources.
Western news agencies quote unnamed Pakistani officials as saying that three missiles struck a compound mid-morning in the Khushali Toorkhel area, about 25 kilometers east of Miranshah, North Waziristan's main town.
It was the second such strike in 48 hours, as the U.S. pursues Taliban fighters and other Al-Qaeda-linked groups which have strongholds in the rugged North Waziristan district on the Afghan border.
The last similar strike, on April 24, reportedly killed seven militants in the district.
