Afghanistan's Taliban has apparently released a video showing a U.S. soldier who was captured last summer.
In the video, Private Bowe Bergdahl says he wants to return to his family in the U.S. state of Idaho.
He also says that the war in Afghanistan is not worth the number of lives that have been lost or wasted in prison.
The video ends with a man described as a Taliban spokesman saying the militia demands the release of a limited number of prisoners in exchange for Bergdahl's release.
It is the first time Bergdahl has been seen since the Taliban released a video of him last December. Bergdahl disappeared June 30, 2010 while based in eastern Afghanistan. He is the only known American serviceman in captivity in Afghanistan.
A U.S. Army spokesman said he could not immediately confirm the authenticity of the video.
