Three Canadian Soldiers Killed In Afghan Blast

OTTAWA (Reuters) -- Three Canadian soldiers were killed and two were wounded in southern Afghanistan late on March 3 when their armored vehicle triggered a roadside bomb, military officials said.

The incident took place in Arghandab district around 10 kilometers northwest of Kandahar as the troops were conducting security operations.

Canada has now lost 111 soldiers since sending forces to Afghanistan in late 2002.

Canada has 2,700 troops in Kandahar on a mission that is due to end in 2011.
