Witnesses Say Armed Group Killed Pakistani Journalist

A journalist gunned down in Pakistan’s Taliban-controlled Swat Valley was killed by a group of armed men, witnesses told RFE/RL’s Radio Free Afghanistan.

Twenty-eight-year-old Musa Khankheil of Swat Valley's GEO TV was at large peace rally in the region’s capital, Saidu Sharif, when the armed men removed him from the crowd and killed him, witnesses said.

They added that he had some 40 bullets in his body.

Pakistani journalists have declared today a "Dark Day" in remembrance of Khankheil, who is the fourth journalist to have been killed in the Swat Valley region recently.
