Bosnian War Crimes Suspect Detained In New York

A Bosnian war crimes suspect has been arrested in the U.S. state of New York.

Federal authorities say 50-year-old Sulejman Mujagic was arrested on November 28 in the city of Utica after an extradition request from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

U.S. officials say Mujagic is accused of crimes, including torture of war prisoners, while commanding a platoon fighting for a region that had seceded from the central government during the 1990s Bosnian war.

Authorities say he moved to Utica in 1997.
