Russians are still wondering what caused the downing of a passenger jet in Egypt this past weekend, killing all 224 people on board.

On the latest Power Vertical Briefing, we take a look at some of the theories being floated in the Russian media. Joining me is Pavel Butorin, senior producer for RFE/RL's Russian-language television program Current Time.

Also on The Briefing, Pavel and I discuss the upcoming Congress of Compatriots, a gathering of the Russian diaspora in Moscow on November 5-6. As the congress approaches, the term Russian World has again become popular among Kremlin officials.
