Britain Wants To Reopen Embassy In Tehran

British Prime Minister David Cameron told Iranian President Hassan Rohani that the nuclear deal reached between Iran and major world powers marked a fresh start in relations between the two countries.

In a phone conversation on July 16, Cameron also told Rohani that he remained committed to reopening the British Embassy in Tehran, according to Cameron’s spokesman.

Diplomatic relations between Iran and Britain were suspended and the embassy was closed after Iranian demonstrators stormed the mission in November 2011.
