MONDAY, November 4:

Azerbaijan: OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs visit Baku.

Azerbaijan: Trial in the case of two opposition leaders, Ilgar Mamedov, chairman of the REAL (Republican Alternative) movement, and Tofig Yagublu, deputy chairman of Musavat party, opens in Sheki.

Russia: Russian nationalists mark the National Unity Day holiday with rallies in Moscow and other cities.

NATO: Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen holds his monthly press briefing in Brussels.

EU/Georgia: European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs holds a debriefing on the European Parliament's Election Observation Mission to Georgia.

Croatia/China: Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic pays an official visit to Beijing (to November 8).

Ukraine: U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland visits Kyiv.


TUESDAY, November 5:

Armenia: OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs visit Yerevan.

Russia/Georgia: Geneva hosts the 25th round of the Russian-Georgian peace talks (November 6).

Syria: The UN and Arab-League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi is scheduled to meet U.S. and Russian officials in Geneva to discuss the situation in Syria.

Ukraine: World Economic Forum hosts a strategic dialogue meeting on the future of Ukraine in Kyiv (November 6).


WEDNESDAY, November 6:

Tajikistan: Presidential election.

UN: International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict.

UK/Russia: Chatham House hosts a discussion titled "Is There a Model for Doing Business in Russia?"

Russia: European Policy Center hosts a discussion titled "Russia and the South Caucasus: What Sort of Role and What Sort of Future."


THURSDAY, November 7:

Russia: A Moscow court holds hearings in the 2006 murder case of journalist Anna Politkovskaya.

Iran: Geneva hosts next round of nuclear talks between six world powers and Iran (to November 8).

Ukraine: Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, is scheduled to consider draft laws on the treatment of prisoners abroad.


FRIDAY, November 8:

Russia/Netherlands: Dutch King Willem-Alexander meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

Japan/Iran: Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida visits Tehran.


SATURDAY, November 9:

Europe: International Day Against Fascism and Antisemitism.

UN: World Science Day for Peace and Development.
