MONDAY, November 25:

Azerbaijan: UN special rapporteur Rashida Manjoo visits Azerbaijan to examine the issue of violence against women (to December 5).

Bosnia-Herzegovina: Statehood Day.

Moldova: Next round of 5+2 talks on the Transdniester conflict settlement, involving representatives of Moldova, Transdniester, Russia, Ukraine, and the OSCE, plus the United States and the European Union, starts in Kyiv (to November 26).

Russia: Russian President Vladimir Putin visits Italy and Vatican, meets Italian leaders and Pope Francis (to November 26).

UN: International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women.

U.S./Ukraine: Wilson Center in Washington hosts a discussion titled "Media Transparency and Journalist Ethics in Post-Soviet Ukraine."


TUESDAY, November 26:

EU/Montenegro: European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs hosts a discussion in Brussels on the Montenegro progress report.

EU/Tajikistan: European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs holds a debriefing on the European Parliament's Election Observation Mission to Tajikistan.

UN: Forum on minority issues opens in Geneva (to November 27).


WEDNESDAY, November 27:

EU/Balkans: European Parliament's subcommittee on human rights releases a study on media freedom in Western Balkans and holds exchange of views on human rights in Western Balkans in 2013 progress reports.

EU/Iraq: European Parliament's subcommittee on human rights holds exchange of views on the situation with Christian and other minorities in Iraq.

UK/Russia: Chatham House in London hosts a discussion titled "EU vs Gazprom: Implications of the Antitrust Clash."


THURSDAY, November 28:

Armenia/Azerbaijan: Strasbourg hosts a meeting of the representatives of civil societies from Armenia and Azerbaijan (to November 29).

Lithuania: Vilnius hosts the Third Eastern Partnership Summit (to November 29).

Uzbekistan: Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government meeting begins in Tashkent (to November 29).
