British Prime Minister David Cameron says that measures to protect the Olympics constitute the biggest security operation in Britain's peacetime history.

He also told reporters at a press conference in London that police and security are leaving nothing to chance in order to keep people safe at the games.

On July 25, security forces sent a fighter jet into the air to intercept an unidentified commercial plane that flew into restricted airspace over London.

The interception was called off when the plane, which had dropped out of contact with air controllers, reestablished communication.
