Chinese, Kazakh Presidents Discuss Ties, Sign Agreements


Nazarbaev is on a state visit to China from May 19 to 22. The two presidents signed a joint declaration and witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements in specific fields.

The agreements included a memorandum on cooperation between Kazakhstan's Samruk-Qazyna State Fund and China International Trust and Investment Corporation, as well as an agreement on cooperation between Kazakhstan’s QazMunaiGaz State Oil and Gas Corporation and China National Petroleum Corporation on joint oil pipes production.

Other documents included one on Chinese investments in Kazakhstan’s oil refinery and coal processing operations.

The two presidents also inaugurated via a remote system the operation of a joint logistics terminal project in Lianyungang City, a port city of east China's Jiangsu Province.
