Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic says Serbs were lied to when they were told that "Kosovo is ours."

Dacic's comments come in an article published in the Serbian weekly "NIN" on March 7 to mark the 10th anniversary of the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic.

In his article, Dacic says that "For 10 years, Kosovo was taboo." He goes on to say, "Tales were told; lies were told that Kosovo is ours."

But now he says, "the Serbian president cannot go to Kosovo. Nor the prime minister. Nor ministers. Nor the police or army. Serbs can only leave Kosovo."

Serbia rejects the independence majority ethnic Albanian Kosovo declared in 2008.

Dacic is leading the Serbian delegation in EU-mediated talks aimed at normalizing ties between Belgrade and Pristina.
