German Police Arrest Four On Suspected Terrorism Charges

Reports say that four suspected Islamist extremists have been arrested in Germany on suspicion of planning terrorist attacks.

Local radio broadcaster SWR reported on October 2, citing a police spokesman, that the four German-born men, three from the former German capital Bonn and one from the town of Offenbach near Frankfurt am Main were arrested on October 1.

According to the report, the suspect arrested in Offenbach was released for lack of evidence, while the other three remain in custody pending further investigation.
