Detained Russian Greenpeace spokesman Roman Dolgov has denounced the potential piracy charges against arrested Greenpeace activists as "absurd." Speaking to reporters from behind bars at a Murmansk court, Dolgov, who was among those detained after the group's protest against Arctic offshore drilling, said Greenpeace was a peaceful, nonviolent organization. The court has ordered the detained Greenpeace activists to be held in jail for two months. No charges have been brought against any of them, but Russian authorities are considering whether to charge them with piracy. (RFE/RL's Russian Service)
