The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a two-year, $520 million loan to Bosnia to support the government's economic program to combat lagging growth.

The stand-by loan was approved late on September 26 in Washington.

The IMF said in a statement that "in recent months, Bosnia's...economic recovery has been losing momentum."

The decision enables the disbursement of the initial $78 million tranche, with the rest to be disbursed following a positive evaluation of the program implementation on a quarterly basis.
