Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has accused Israel’s prime minister of lying.

In an interview with Iranian television broadcast on October 1, Zarif said, "We have seen nothing from [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu but lies and actions to deceive and scare."

He also called Netanyahu the "most isolated individual" at the United Nations.

Zarif’s comments came ahead of Netanyahu's scheduled speech to the UN General Assembly later on October 1.

During last year's General Assembly, Netanyahu used a cartoon bomb as a prop to show the world how close he believed Iran was to producing a nuclear warhead.

Netanyahu on September 30 met with U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington, and urged him to keep the pressure on Iran as world powers and the Islamic republic pursue negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear program.
